During Summer 2017 the first cohort of SistaFire RI leaders are connecting with other women of color in Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls to discover the challenges, resources, and goals that are most important to our communities. We are conducting surveys and interviews with friends, neighbors, and extended networks to help unpack these issues. This outreach includes questions about how women of color are navigating their current economic situations, their support networks, and their hopes for the future. This is a voluntary, confidential process, but direct quotes from participants will be shared where permission is granted.
